2009 Individual of the Year - RLP Shelter Foundation

This award is presented annually to real estate agents who have made an outstanding or extraordinary contribution of time and effort to helping women and children living with abuse.
In 2009, Sebastian set out to conquer a world record to raise awareness and funds for the RLP Shelter Foundation. In climbing the Grouse Grind 13 times in a single day, Sebastian raised nearly $10,000. In addition, he brought more attention and awareness to the cause than any single individual had ever done before. For his efforts, Sebastian was honored with the 2009 Individual of the Year Award (BC) by the RLP Shelter Foundation.
"Sebastian is a true champion for our cause and an inspiration for all of us. He raised almost $10K in pledges for his initiative in addition to considerable and important awareness for our cause spreading the word extensively via social media and appearing on TV, radio, print and online news sources in a more extensive way than anyone before him ever has in the history of the Shelter Foundation – in fact, CBC BC ranked the top 10 online news stories in all of 2009. Even before all of this he has been a committed commission donor to our cause. And despite mounting the most incredible and high-profile fundraiser in the country, he has been so humble about his unprecedented contribution. He has wowed and inspired thousands across Canada to come up with creative ways to support the Shelter Foundation and follow his fine example. We could not be more grateful for the time, effort and sweat that went into your passion for our cause!"
