There isn’t much to say in the Vancouver Real Estate Blog about last week in the Vancouver real estate market. Two things happened. A big wallop of snow, and the year’s major holiday. The result? Not a lot of activity. I don’t think it’s really useful to compare this past week to those that have come before.
What was worth taking note of was that sales (38) outpaced new listings (25). This is to be expected during a holiday. I mean, who is really going to be putting their house on the market right in the middle of the slowest week of the year? Then again, how many buyers are out there at that time?
The other piece of information that I would take away from this past week is that Active Listings (4839) fell once again (-1.95%). I suspect that we should have one, at the most two more weeks of this number declining and then we’ll likely start seeing it rise as all those listings that wanted to come on the market inDecember come up in January. It shall be interesting to see just how far those Active Listings rise.
