Now we are into the second full week of 2009. The numbers for the week are similar to those that we saw last week. Listings continued to come on strongly (+30.53%) to 342 while Sales remained relatively flat (+14.58%) at 55. The result was that the Sell/List ratio was just 16.08% (-2.24). That’s the lowest Sell/List number that I’ve recorded (since beginning to take the statistics in July 2008).
While the end of 2008 saw the number of listings drop to levels not seen since Spring 2008, the beginning of 2009 is quite a different story. With lots of new Listings, few Sales and relatively few Removed Listings (154, +37.50%) we are seeing Active Listings grow steadily.
The low of 3763 was reached in the last week of 2008. In the last two weeks we’ve now reached 4068. That’s an 8.1% increase in just two weeks, and a 4.39% increase over last week.
